Can someone tell me why my sims skin looks weird?

All of my sims skins started looking like this in game. I uploaded a picture, look around the eyes. It's on every sim. I haven't added new cc recently and updated my mods so I don't know what the problem is. It was working fine a few days ago then this happened all of the sudden. Anyone know how to fix this?

    @milanlaia

    Do you use skin recolors? If so all of these are broken and needs to be updated by the author.

  • @milanlaia I think @jpkarlsen is right... This kind of stuff is usually caused by custom content. I'd take out all the CC you have that affects skin tones because this was a known CC bug from the recent update. If you're unsure which CC is the problem use the 50/50 method and test it in batches. Hope this fixed your problem!
  • the last EA update on the 6th of October broke all skins and EA will not fix it. the only way is to ask CC creator to fix it

    @aaliyahjh , how can EA fix items that they never put into the game? 🤔 There are thousands of CC items in existence and it is impossible for EA to be responsible for all of these mostly because they aren't aware of what every CC item that creators make.🤨  CC is a 3rd party addition and not made by EA.  EA only allows for their usage.  Good CC creators stay on top of their creations when EA patches a game. 😇
    This current patch fixed a lot of the issues with the game's skin tones, especially the newer darker skin tones that were added a few years ago, of which some had a lot of problems. This is a good thing! 🙌 Many people have been waiting for these skin tones to be fixed for years.

    @milanlaia  Check back with whomever made your CC skin tones to see if they fix their creations to work with the current version of the game.  When they do fix their creations, be sure to delete the old version and add the new version of the CC.  Also be sure to delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder, because this can store some old corrupted data even if you delete any outdated CC objects. 🤨

    If you want a good way to test for which CC items are causing the problem, please do the following:

    1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop

    2) Delete the  localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. (This is very important). 🤨

    3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list.  Wait until Origin finishes repairing all your packs and not just the base game. If you are on a Mac it will only repair the base game.  (Do not put your Mods folder back yet).

    4) Now, when you turn on your game again, it will create a new mods folder that will be empty.  Check to see if your game is now working without mods/CC.

    5) Now you can try adding back items from your Mods folder one at a time checking your game each time to see which item is causing your game to not work properly.  If you have a lot of items, you can try the 50/50 Method, testing in batches.

    The CC creators will usually update the CC items and Mods after these updates, so when you find out which one is the culprit, you can get the updated version from whoever made that item of CC in the first place.  You should try these steps anytime you have problems in your game to rule out CC/Mods problems.  It is the responsibility of the Mods/CC creators to update their items anytime EA releases a patch/update, and it is the responsibility of the people who use Mods/CC to make sure they are using the most recent version, which was just released.
    Once you have deleted the old outdated CC versions and deleted the localthumbcache.package file, you can add your Mods folder back to your game. 🙂

    I took all my cc out and it's still doing that. I repaired the game and even deleted and reinstalled it and nothing is changing. Is there anything else it could possibly be?

    @milanlaia After you removed your mods and CC did you remember to delete the localthumbcache.package file from your Sims 4 folder? This is a cache file where the game will store certain data for fast retrieval. If you had a broken mod or CC there might still be data from it in that cache file even after you have deleted the mods/CC from your Mods folder.
