Can we get a couple of options to help with NPCs

Basically just two things.

1. The ability to control what NPCs can enter any doors (public lots and employees especially included)
and
2. The option to set what staff items the system should always send NPCs to work at. If I have 3 bars on a lot,  I want all 3 bars staffed.

Often I'll set up a lounge or something and add two bars (one in the VIP) but only one is staffed. The only option is for me to pay to hire someone (which is limited and doesn't always work)... instead there should be an option to "Staff this Object" that will Always bring staff to it from then on as well as summon an NPC worker as soon as you click it. That way if I have a Piano, Mic and guitar I can actually get a band manning all the instruments instead of just one jack of all trades entertainer NPC.

This would help with all staffabe items especially VIP doors which for some reason I never seem to have staffed, I always have to Hire bouncer on the one and only door, which may be a bug as I have another location with 2 doors that always have bouncers.

And please allow players to set locks on ALL doors in the game if we want. For example I want a pet park with a dog section and a cat section... at my house I can simply lock door for all cats or for all dogs, but  not on a lot; I get my Sim does not "own" the lot but I do own the game and am trying to create a realistic world. It's not my Sim locking the door it's me the player... allow us the power to set locks on public lots, allowing and disallowing NPCs from spaces as needed.

And again for the love of pete EMPLOYEE DOORS, people have been asking for this for years. You have bathroom doors, VIP doors so this shouldn't be too much of an issue. Simply add doors that only employees of an establishment can go through to keep the riffraff out of the kitchen and breakrooms 😉

Or better yet just add "allow only employees/staff" option like any of the other current door options but as above the ability for the player to set access for any lot door in the game (maybe excluding NPC residence)

  • @willprot Interesting ideas! 🤔

Locks: I would also love to have additional attention to door locks (which I have found to be randomly buggy, which is rather frustrating... just ask my sim who ran right past my locked gate to eat the CowPlant cake and to then get eaten himself... but moving on from that one... 😉 ) I would love to see the ability to lock doors to vampires, for obvious reasons.

'Manned' items on lots: And the bars & espresso bars on lots... I would love to see the ability to use them in restaurants or retail stores (if you have the appropriate pack) where you pay and call the employee - or man it yourself - and you also get the profits for the drinks or treats sold in it. This would play well into the types of restaurants some of us like to make, or to add an espresso bar to a bakery or store.(Since we cannot own cafes or bars). If we tweak/edit/pr add a non-owned bar I have found a higher likelihood that an added bar or espresso bar will be manned, but I think it would be good if this is part of the coding that it be so if customers are there. If I visit a restaurant another of my sim families own and I have added a bar to the restaurant, the game populated that bar with a bartender. If the owning family opens it, though, they can hire a bartender for the shift, or make drinks at the bar, and if they hired a bartender or made drinks themselves, though others will order or drink the drinks the owners do not get money for the drinks.

Bottom line, I think your ideas bring up some great points and I'm glad you shared them. I think there are a number of small tweaks like this that would enhance gameplay for community lots and owned restaurant and retail lots alike. Thanks for sharing! :eahigh_file:
