Cannot exit Sims 4

I tried up a different save and it didn't happen to that one. It only happens to the main save that I have been playing this whole time. Any advice?

I've split your posts as the user in the thread you posted in had laggy gameplay and frozen sims which isn't your issue, at least you don't mention it in your posts.
If it only happens with one save then the issue is that save, it may be broken. You could try restoring a backup of that save. Instructions here are for Windows but the method is the same for Mac users https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/recover-backup-save-game/

Okay, let me try that but let me also be abit more specific. I open the game and i have this one save that i have been playing for a while now. Yesterday while playing all of a sudden it stopped working. I try to make the sims do a task the task doesn't load up, they are just frozen sleeping in that position that they were last left in. I can go into build mode but cannot build anything as it refuses to register the command the item just goes back to its original position. When i click the top right option to see the menu the game acts like the tasks are loading up onto the characters list but it just stays frozen. They don't move but you can see them frozen doing npc actions in their same spots e.g sleeping, taking selfies but no commands i give them work. When i try to exit game or go to the main menu it loads endlessly until i have to force exit the game. I tried with a new game or rather a different game that was saved and it was working fine. So i am not sure what is going on
