Can't always add cake toppers/birthday candles

My sim made a cake to age up her babies and she can only add birthday candles to it if SHE places it on a TABLE.

With bb.moveobjects off, I can't place the cake manually anywhere. Not on counters, not on tables. It goes straight to family inventory. If I turn on bb.moveobjects, I can place it as normal, but no slot accepts it for adding birthday candles. I have to move it to the sim inventory, and tell the sim to place it in world. If there's no table available, and the cake is placed on a counter, it still doesn't let me add birthday candles nor wedding toppers. When there's a table available, the sim will place it on the table and be able to add candles/toppers just fine. 

I've tested both with and without mods, with new cakes made in both cases. Tested both chocolate and white cake. Same result always.

    Hi Lakaka99​ 

    I have no issues placing those on counters or tables. There are only certain lots on a counter where placing candles works.

    Do you have this issue in all your households ? How did you remove your mods ? Moved mods folder/delete cache files ? Even try a new user folder for testing ?

    Yes, all households. Moved mods folder and deleted cache files. I didn't try a new user folder though.

    Try the following

    - Close the game
    - Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    - Repair the game
    - Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. 
    - Start a new save game
    - Check if you still have the error
    - Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
