my sim has been fishing for literally a whole sim week! i still havent found an angelfish, which lots of people seem to find easily but ive found atleast 10 gummie guppie fish or whatever, and even a cowplant!!!!!! but NO ANGELFISH! i dont know what to do! my sims wife died and i need that angelfish for ambrosia. and yes i am fishing in the rivers of willow creek.

@HurricaneDeclan You may need to fish with bate. Try ty the park and upward from that area in Oasis Springs (Desert Bloom). Some of my other fav fishing spots were the river by 'Potters Splay' in Willow Creek, and by the'The Old Salt House' in San Myshuno. I usually get an angel fish fairly frequently. You may need to leave the world then go back or go back another day so the game/water spawns more fish or something?I have ambrosia under my name in the gallery (SheriGR), if you want to download it. I also have a death flower there and a potion of youth in my gallery. There is an Angelfish too. I recently used Ambrosia to resurrect a child. Angelfish. So. I don't know what packs you have. I've caught them:1. Off the little peninsula behind the Willow Creek Library--depending on your fishing skill, it might sparkle. This is THE PRIMO SPOT to find Angelfish. A+++ try here first. 2. On the little Mua Pe'lam island--not the one with the shipwreck, the other one.3. Behind the Oakenstead mansion in Willow Creek (the big white house with a gazebo up near the super modern place)If you have Realm of Magic, you can go to Caster's Alley and buy them at the Potion Ingredient shop even if your Sim isn't a caster. (If you have Realm of Magic your Sim might also be able to learn the Dedeathify spell as well, but it's probably faster to just go to the potion ingredient shop and see if they have them.) Their inventory varies so if they don't have it when you go, go back later. You can kill time fishing in the little garden area, and might get lucky there.Good luck!!!

I have a bit of additional info for you since my other post (been chatting with @CGrant56 about this)...He was saying that he didn't think you needed bait for angelfish, and that he caught them in many different areas - but that it takes patience. @HurricaneDeclan If you haven't found angelfish at the fishing signs where you have been fishing, then you need to change and try at other fishing signs and at different times of day too. The type of fish you can catch at any fishing sign is pretty easy to see. Just look in the water and see what is swimming around. Keep trying different fishing signs until you find one that has angelfish. That fish is available at quite a few of them in several worlds. You might have to go to different worlds as well. And to the the hidden lots like Sylvan Glade too. You can catch most fish, including the angelfish, without bait but bait does seem to increase the amount of fish you catch in a given timeframe so it may be faster. And as @xochiquetzl_xkvn said, you can buy them in the Magical Realm at Caster's alley if you have Realm of Magic and they are in stock at the booth. But if your issue is resurrecting your dead wife, there are several options depending on what packs you have.You have the Book of Life if your sim has level 10 writing and you recorded your wife's story before she died (Base Game).You have ambrosia also from Base Game.You have the wishing well from the Romantic Garden pack if you have that stuff pack.You have the Dedeathify spell if you have the Realm of Magic game pack and have a spellcaster handy.But as @Psychotps said, there is a bug with ambrosia that causes it not to work. In my game, it's hit or miss if the sim actually gets resurrected or not. Some do and some don't even though the wall post says that it worked. Same thing happens with the wishing well. I haven't tried with the book or a spellcaster lately so for those, idk. What does happen is that the hidden trait doesn't get removed properly for some sims and the sim remains a ghost. Other times it does and the sim becomes solid again. So if you use mods and have MCCC, you can manually remove the trait. I've done it twice (both times after having ambrosia and the wishing well fail) and haven't seen anything amiss in my game since I did but you'll have to decide whether you want to do that or not. Any time you do something like that, you do take a risk. If you do, then make a copy of your save before you do it in case something goes wrong.But in the mean time, until you can do one of those, you need to protect the ghost. You have a couple of options.The first is to use the strengthen the connection to physical world option found on the urn or tombstone. That buys you time but the ghost can be culled if you take too long to resurrecting her. But the best option is to invite or ask the ghost to join your household so the ghost is a playable sim again. Then she will not be culled and you can continue to play her as a ghost until you can resurrect her. Since she died, you will have to marry her again. And she would have lost her job when she died too so she will have to find a job. Her inventory at the time of death would have gotten dumped into the household inventory so you'll have to give all her stuff back to her. Hope this helps.

@xochiquetzl_xkvnI am of the same mind. I go through all the trouble of making the ambrosia, the LONG way. When it inevitably doesn't work, I then just cheat the trait off.I don't mind using cheats at all to overcome a bug or FLAW in the game. As long as I'm faithful about going through the entire process to get there.

Actually it does ..I used it to bring back my neighbor I took her urn and then made ambrosia, then selected "grab serving together". Instead of telling people to 'give it up' like a * with no useful info, go back n try again because you obviously did it wrong.

Thanks to youth potions, my SIM has buried 4 spouses, captured all the frogs from rotting logs, caught countless bass for bait and has never, ever caught an angelfish despite having a fishing skill of 10.
Have tried every fishing spot in the 3 towns plus Sylvan Glade.
Have occasionally glimpsed them after repeated examines.

Basically, if I’m out fishing and I catch an angelfish, I buy an aquarium. I also grow death flowers.
I… have issues, okay? Life insurance! give me life insurance!

You can also buy them during the Sulani fishing competition on Saturdays, from the little fish/bait shop.
I also have two retail stores in my current save where ambrosia is for sale:
1. Jenna’s magic shop, available in the gallery. I couldn’t figure out how to sell fish, but most other potions, ingredients, and tomes are there. Also dragonfruit, a money fruit, and ambrosia. (I think the gallery version has no ambrosia, come to think of it.)
2. Caleb’s oddities: I decided to pretend Caleb Vatore is “the oddity collector” from the Paranormal Stuff pack. He has specter gifts, vampire tomes, some werewolf items, the cure for vampires and werewolves… and ambrosia. (He lets the witch across town do the witch stuff.) I don’t remember if I ever uploaded this to the gallery or not…

Me too, I’ve got 10 cowplant berries, 5 violins, 3 gnomes, 8 treefish, captain bones, gummy guppies - not one angelfish!
