Can't travel from non-home lots

if i want to travel from my homelot everything's fine (mostly, the city living world isn't accessible, the other ones work). However i can't leave from other lots (if i press the home button- that works. but just travelling doesnt't. At least not from the romance festival-lot). If I try to travel with my sims, the loading screen appears, but that's it. no world map, no chance to leave except to close the game via strg+alt+entf

i'm not using any mods either.
