This, to be fair, has been an long time issue, for some careers and teen/child Sims (after school) activities for a while. It is true, depending on what type of career and child/teen activities are being done. Hopefully, the main tasks, above the daily tasks can be completed. That is what matters most. However, some like, for example, with Part Time work/jobs, require Daily Tasks to help progress further in career if I'm not mistaken. I had a Sim in the Barrister career, mentioned to do some tasks, but it would not move from Not Started, I think saying, to show a percentage like it usually does. It had to wait, for the progress bar to go up by itself, as the Sim attended work. It's unfortunate due to how long, the Daily Task in game could be done for, and no percentage, to completed does not show up. It has currently been updated for some, like the Athlete career, Daily Tasks for example now do work. No clue on a way around it, but there might be a cheat code if really wanting to progress, on searches, or as I've seen on gameplays/playthroughs for example.
