Carefree trait could use a nerf now.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be posting game balance issues here, or if The Sims is the wrong genre for that kind of thing.

However, I would like to comment:

Basically, if one gets the Carefree trait, he/she can completely nullify the effects of 4 out of 5 of the weaknesses he/she has to take (All 3 levels of daytime weakness + guilty drinker); this defeats the purpose of "balancing vampire powers with weaknesses.

Therefore, here's my suggestion:

If a buff has a mood type which is excluded by one of the traits a Sim has - Instead of preventing the addition of the buff outright, the buff should be made invisible and the mood weight forced to 0. That way, these reward traits will still be effective (Your Sim will never become tense/embarrassed), but any additional penalties these buffs have can still be applied.

Just my 2 cents 🙂

Then I take it you would also like to retain the negative effects off Working hard (School/Work) since the Carefree trait also negates those.

  • No. What I'm talking about is the secondary effects from the tense moodlets themselves that should be preserved. (From what I've noticed, working hard only reduces the Fun motive, as well as adding a tense moodlet. Both of these effects are blocked by the carefree trait, which IMO is part of the point. So it's fine.
