I just wanted to say, if anyone else has the same problem, the only way I managed to resolve it is by aging ALL the children (three of them). Once the original child that was "targeted" was aged to a teen, the next one was on the schedule to die due to neglect. I feel like this is a bug with the latest patch (I could be wrong of course but I got the Reaper event message and it was indeed fishy). All three children were happy, doing very well at school etc. I tried moving a child to a different household, deleting mods, repairing the game, deleting cashes etc. but nothing worked.
Tbh, this made me like this game a bit less because I was playing "This is Us" scenario and poor Randall was not supposed to die or age up to a teen before ever going to a swimming pool or learning to ride a bike lol
Heyyy, I’m having the same exact problem you are not alone!! This is happening in my main save file where I’m building a legacy and the mom had 9 kids . Dad died before life & death expansion pack came out. household was mom, 2 teens , 2 children and a dog before she died after I bought the life & death expansion pack. So as I was playing last night, she died in her sleep, I set up a Will for her, which I especially waited for the pack to come out for me to turn aging back on so that she can die. I set up for the two children to be sent away with one of their older adult brothers. But once the mom died, they all stayed in the household and nothing happened. I’m assuming it’s because there are teens in the house but the children still should’ve been sent away so I’m confused about that … at first, I didn’t think anything of it so I just kept playing, but then one child died due to neglect and a few sim minutes later the other child died due to neglect I was going crazy. I exit my game and restarted, thinking that if I moved them in with the adult brother, it would solve the problem. It did not because after I moved them in with him, they still died for the same reason in the same order. so I’m definitely thinking it’s a glitch. I am now about to play again, and my only thought was let me try to look this problem up because my only guess is I have to age those children up unfortunately 😭😭 lol
