For the final stretch of the last Forever Friends event quest, 'Always with Me, Always with You', I am unable to finish complete it because of 'Go to School' 0/1.
It says when the tool tip has the mouse cursor is on it: "School happens Monday to Friday and starts in the morning, wait until that time, and have a Sim go to school when given the option.
Tip: You can also have an older Sim go to work."
I've tried with a Child and Teen Sim going to school, and with an Adult Sim going to work, using multiple saves and families. None of them completed the quest, whether heading off to school/work or after they return from school/work.
Active Imagination is claimed, Pixel Friends Pyjamas is still locked. I've completed the optional quest tasks as well as the regular ones.
I am having a similar issue. Only it is also the TV and the play with toy parts of the challenge as well. I removed all the stuff animals from the lot and yet no matter how long I have the child watch tv or play with a toy from the toybox it doesn't get completed. Same when I sent here to school. I have exited to the main menu and reloaded the game, closed the game and then logged back in and even pressed repair game in the app. Still these three tasks will not seem to get marked off as complete. I also reported it to IT and put in a claim. Stinks because I wanted the imagination reward and the pj.
I have the same problem. I can't complete either the TV task or the toybox task, even though the child completes them easily.

Same, i have had both adult and child sim watch tv but it is not letting me complete the event ):
I had this problem but once I let the child complete the school day, I was able to finish the event. I kept sending every kid in my save to school, sent several sims to work, but once I actually waited for a kid to come home, it completed. I had to go to a different save file from before the event started and create someone with a kid to do it though.
I've tried a variety of combinations, and found that going to an active work site, such as being a Doctor or a High School student, does not count as going to work/school for the 'Go to school 0/1' quest.
But it finally worked when the Doctor Sim had a day off in the schedule. The child Sim in the single parent home returned from school while the parent Sim was gardening.
