Cooking Issues

Before the Life and Death patch, my sims were having a problem where they couldn't use a cooktop (stove top). Since the patch, they also cannot use the oven. At this time, the grill, pizza oven, and waffle iron are all working. I have checked with and without mods as well as with other games. It seems to be only in this one particular game where I have my legacy family. All other games can cook just fine with and without mods. Is there anything I can do to get them cooking again?
