I have the same issue. I removed all of my mods, deleted the cache file and ran a repair on the game. Before I ran the repair, I would get an exception file, now I don't get anything. The game is clearly broken. but Mods don't seem to be issue as I no longer have any in my game.
So removing the mods doesn't seem like a solution this time. ogjj8w4oph5s should try removing them, but based on my experience it might not fix the problem this time.
endless loading can have many causes and mods are known to be one of them, especially if it's one specific household.
Is it a specific Sim or all households for you ? Does a new save work ?
I've been having the same problem for the past month when I've tried to play the game. Previously hadn't played since July, came back to it last month and now tonight and it doesn't load at all when I pick a household- any household at all. I even tried making a new save file and it still just gets stuck loading forever if I pick a house to load into. It's done it across both my existing saves, and the mod for checking error issues also doesn't work. So if there is some other possible cause that isn't my mods, what else should I be looking for exactly?
If it doesn't work on a new save either, chances are like 99% that it's an incompatible mods. 'Regular' endless loading are usually tied to something in the save game itself.
Have you done a proper clean folder yet ?
