Fast forwarding & tasks not leaving que

I just bought sims4 yesterday along with the city living expansion pack, parenthood, kitchen stuff, and Work. The fast forwarding feature only works 10% of the time and my sim will start a task and then not finish it and only start things for a second but the original task will not leave que. Is there a fix for this or can I just return sims4 and get my money back?

    @hhalma1996 So sorry for your frustration! I assume you have no Mods or Custom Content added to your game, but I am going to ask just in case. If so, please let me know and I will give you different troubleshooting directions for that situation. I would recommend the following as a first round of troubleshooting in your situation (brand new game):

    • Exit your game then exit Origin. Delete the localthumbnailcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder and restart the game.
    • Then run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the basegame first, then run through each of your expansions/packs). After that, please see if the issue has stopped.
