Fear of Dead end job

I think about 90% of my sims have gotten this as of now. Even if some of my Sims are in there ideal careers (my painter sim in the artist profession) seem to just get this fear when it makes absolutely no sense. Another example is today one of my newer Sims came back from work and got promoted... He also returned with the fear of a dead end job... HOW DOSE THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE!!! He just got promoted! That is the farthest thing from dead end you can be!

I wonder why it's that bad in your case, in mine it's a small minus debuff but they are happy as heck from other things. Death in the family, or friends hits them hard, not these things. Maybe you didn't looks through the aspiration rewards you can get via aspirations done or wants done. Makes them almost self sustaining in time.

I can beat that, after my kid grew up and moved out, his dad an investor rich as a pig calls, 'I want to pursue to dream job." So I said ok, LOL. He chose to be some plumber guy LOL. I switched to him to fix his "dream". But it was very funny, probably by intention too.

  • Just had this problem myself, and the sim who got promoted somehow got the fear twice. Image attached. While I do enjoy the fears, some of them need some tuning. Especially the fear of dead-end job. I like that it makes it harder for sims to get promoted. Adds some much needed challenge to the game, but I don't like how often it pops up, or when it pops up right when my sim gets promoted. That makes zero sense.

I am so sick of the Fear of a Dead End Job, it comes up far too often.  Seriously, the sim I'm playing right now is a 5 star celebrity, Celebrity Chef (top of the culinary career), has had so many raises they make just under $3k / hour, and when they come home from a shift 2 things are true:  1) They earned another raise (thanks to performance boosting traits, celebrity perks and working hard), 2) they regained the blasted Fear of a Dead-end Job.

HOW is being at the top of a career path doing something they love (they love to cook) and constantly getting raises mean they're in a dead-end situation.  How.  It makes no sense.

I mean, yes, they aged up with the Responsible Trait so autonomously go to work on "Work Hard", but.... working hard doing something you love doesn't equal despair and nothing accomplished. It's almost as bad as the Workaholic Lifestyle that made me turn Lifestyles off completely.  Every single sim got turned into a workaholic who'd HAVE to run out in the middle of the night for unpaid work.... because... they go to work when scheduled....  Hard pass.

Please fix this so it doesn't fire off when "Working Hard" but in a low-level career that doesn't involve a skill / hobby you love (or better, one you actively hate) or where you haven't been promoted in a while.  As in at least a week.

they need to turn down this fear, and also the fear of unfulfilled dreams because they get so annoying
