Fires starting out of nowhere!

At least once a simday, a fire breaks out in my Sims' home for no apparent reason. This problem started after the new update.

Oh, goodness! I've had a couple of spontaneous fires in my game. Mostly it was the China tea set that decided to set itself aflame, twice. Interestingly enough, there was no damage.

On the other hand, I've just had two fires very recently, involving the Ranch Hand. She seems to have a crush on her employer, a Global Superstar, Rock Star, who is married and the father of twin infant boys.  She managed to set herself on fire attempting to dry the clothes.  Then she managed just in my game, yesterday, to catch herself on fire using the barbeque out on the back patio. Sheesh.

You may wish to do a game repair, or if you use Mods, to sort through them to make certain they are updated.

I feel your frustration. I read someone else's post about the cursed book for rent quest maybe starting the "to many fires in silly places." 6 months ago! SIX! still not fixed. And you have to cheat money to pay for items back or the game is unplayable, cause you'll have no Simoleans. Sometimes I don't even know what burns cause the pile of ash....like what was that? Sometimes I know. Like my child's bed while they are sleeping in it, somewhere on the roof, somewhere on the wall by the computer.  So often I can't even play I logged out. I was so excited about for rent and having some of my Sims together. I have many times updated, repaired, cleared cache, got rid of all Curseforge mods, repeated the cleaning process. I've moved. I rebuilt. I've also chatted with someone from EA. Maybe something will happen from that. For some reason I have little faith though. It's been a "bug" for to long now. Let me know if you get help. Last night I had a random fire start from my fireguard upgraded fireplace, set fire to the rug in front of it.

I installed the newest update prior to playing last night and I don't own for rent so not caused by the cursed book event. On ps4 too so not a mod issue either, definitely a new update bug.

yes! this is happening to me and probably has been for 2-3 months on a rental lot in tomarang. I'm getting fires near constantly in totally random places in the apartment, sometimes not even near my sim and definitely not always on electronics. i play on pc but it's not my mods, I've tried updating them all already. my sims do not have the fear of fire trait and the lot has no lot traits. i need this fixed, completely killing my gameplay to have to put fires out every 10 minutes (sometimes more often!)

for r-rentals it's usually the cursed book event that causes it as a trigger even if you resolved it.

Did you ever have on that lot ?

Hi! Same thing happened to me. I wet into the buy bar, typed in fire and bought the fire suppression box, stuck it on the wall. It was really irritating and killing my Sims, but this has stopped it for now.
