Okay so I have been doing the first item with all my other collectibles. And putting the fish in my inventory works. However, it's putting them back in the tank that's the problem because they won't leave my Sim's inventory.
For the second item, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I don't know what you meant by "clicking" delete. I thought you meant hitting the delete button but that just sells the tank as well as the fish. It doesn't send it to the Household Inventory. I also tried dragging the tank into the Household inventory and out but that didn't work either.
I don't know what you mean by resetting the fish. The link you sent talks about shift-clicking but that only works if the item is in the world. I can't get the fish in the world in the first place.
Moving them out of the lot also has the same problem.
Yes, these are fish my sim caught. However, he caught them on the lot they were living in before.
I do have mods. But I only have a handful and they are mostly XML tuning mods. The only script mod I have is TexMex's All cheats mod.
@BlizzardBunny0 Thank you for the information. I have made a video where I went over a few things I mentioned about getting items to register in your Sim's Household Collections I hope this will clarify some of what I meant and address some of your frustrations.
If the items and transferring from inventories and other aspects of this process are now working in your game in the same way you see in my video, it could be that we need to troubleshoot if the Mods/CC in your game are causing any issue For reference when you watch the video, I have no Mods/CC in my game.
Since you have Mods/CC please test this issue without them in your game by doing the following in this order without skipping any steps, even if you’ve done some of these steps already:
- Exit your game then exit Origin. Drag the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop (for future reference) then delete the localthumbcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder. (When you restart the game it will automatically create a new Mods folder.)
- Next please run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs).
Do not re-add any of your Mods or CC at this time. Please then restart your game and do not enter your previous game-save but begin a new game. See if the issue is present in this new game-save.
If this fixes the issue you can re-add your Mods/CC one at a time to see which were conflicting with the function/causing the glitch - but do not re-add the old Resource.cfg file from the old Mods folder, as it is possible for it to have become corrupted.
- 6 years ago@SheriGR Thanks! I’ll try these soon. However, the YouTube link doesn’t seem to be working. I’m getting a 404 error 😅

@BlizzardBunny0 Sorry about the confusion... I accidentally clicked send on the post before the video had finished uploading. There should be no issue viewing, but let me know if you see any error again.
