For rent issues

I’m having a lot of trouble with the gameplay in the for rent expansion. 
The days left in the tenancy goes down by one day and then back to the original - I’ve tried 7 days, 3 days, 2 days etc but it never gets to the end of the lease period. I get rent paid on a Wednesday or Thursday, but have never once had a ‘grace period’ as I’ve seen other players have. 
Every time there is something wrong with the unit I fix it promptly (I’ve tried doing it myself and calling a contractor) but it always says I ignored the problem and rating went down. 
My tenants are also breaking a few rules and using the mailbox or thier front door to reprimand them and collect the fine doesn’t work anymore. 
Honestly at a loss and so bummed that I literally can’t use the for rent gameplay. I’ve repaired my game and the only cc/mods I use is mccc which is updated. I’ve tried starting a new save, clearing cache files and removing MCCC and nothing has worked so far.
