I have this issue as well.
It appeared (or at least I noticed it) after I had to make a new Sims 4 folder after updating my game to take part in the Reaper’s event since my game would crash on launch. After making sure my game would load again, I transferred back my saves, photos as well as the files from my tray folder and since then the second image has been missing from the sims in my library with the “item is corrupted” window popping up when clicked. I only have 4 sims in my library all made by me and I have neither cc nor mods in the file.
I don’t know if this has any relevance, but I did notice when making a backup before the latest patch on Tuesday that in my son’s game there are now gimp files in his tray folder. I don’t have any of these in mine even though both of our games are installed on the same computer. However, I haven’t made any new households in my game since creating the new Sims 4 folder and just did a “save as” copy of my testing save for the Reaper’s event, whereas I did make a new household and downloaded a lot from the gallery for my son’s game as I have been helping him out with the event.
