Game Forever Saving Issue

I haven't been able to play consistently for almost two weeks. It started with the game freezing in game on Saturday at 12:04am. I finally was able to move past that (I've double checked mods, removed what I thought were broken mods, even played without mods.) But in the last week and a half I've only made it to Sunday night at 10:00pm. I load in, check the game, can initially save no problem. So then I obsessively save every few minutes, have zero issues, and continue playing a couple days in game, try to save again (after my sim had a baby), and the game is forever stuck in the saving screen. I can't override it, can't close my game, I have to restart my computer to get out of the saving screen. I've tried repairing my game multiple times and nothing is working. I've been playing in this save for 7 generations, I'm currently trying to save my family and their siblings to move to a new save file just to see if starting over like that will fix things. I've been playing for years and have never had this issue.
