Game hanging or crashing when playing a specific build

The Sims 4 loads the menu screen and when I press resume game, start new game, or load any save file (even recovered) after less than 5 seconds of loading the game turns off with no warning. There are no error messages after. This happened on my PC, and I bought a MacBook Air literally for the game and the issue still persist on the newly installed sims 4. I have the latest game update and MacOS. I do not have any CC or Mods.

I have:

- Repaired the game (so many times)

- Cleared cache and repaired the EA App

- Removed the sims 4 folder to desktop so the game can create a new one in the EA folder

- Removed the Options.ini folder from the sims 4 folder to Desktop.

- Removed the Mods folder from the sims 4 folder to Desktop (despite not using them it was a fix suggested to me by the EA team so of course I tried it!)

- Entered Safe mode on Mac

- Re-installed MacOS

- Re-installed the Sims 4

- Re-installed the EA app

I have not been able to access the Sims for 2 weeks now, even after the new bug update! It is so frustrating help ☹️

If it's happening on a Windows machine and macOS then the problem is the saves.

Rename the Sims 4 folder then launch the game so a new Sims 4 folder is created, it will be like new with none of your user data loaded into the game. Can you now start a new save?

I have tried this again and it does seem to work now, thank you. The only time the problem persists is when I place a lot from my uploads and try to play that. It is a lot I built and spent a long time on (but have not finished yet), is there any way to make it playable? Or anything to prevent this happening in the future (if you know). Thanks for the help!

    @proudtube808

    Thanks 🙂

I went into build mode on the 64x64 Lot in Brindleton Bay and successfully placed the Lot but when I tried to go back to the map screen the game hung on the blue loading screen and I had to Force Quit it.

I then tried to place the Lot from the map screen in Brindleton Bay and again the game hung whilst it was trying to place it.

I then tried to place it unfurnished in build mode on the same lot and the game immediately crashed to desktop.

I then placed it furnished again in build mode and it placed ok. I removed all the plants you added to the walls to look like ivy, the diagonal windows on the ground floor, and the upscaled chimney. It then loaded back to the map screen successfully. The issue is one or more of those items.

Moving this to game issues it's not a Mac issue.

Thank you, I will try to see which item it may be and maybe I can resume it 🙂 I appreciate all the effort you went to!! That is very helpful!
