Game not saving

So I've recently installed the horse ranch & cats & dogs expansion pack to my laptop. Since installing them my game is taking long time to save. I can save a house build without household fine. Just can't save a live game or household in create a sim. 

Also when I'm in create a sim I can see my sim & horse but I can't see my dog.
