Haunting Event prevents newborns/infants/toddlers from going to daycare

My newborn is currently stuck at the home as there is a Haunting Event happening, causing the game to think a Sim is present to take care of them. Instead, the newborn nearly got taken away while my sim was at work. Anyone have a fix or also experienced this issue?

    Hire a nanny before going to work. Phone/Home/Hire a Service/Nanny. 

    Other solutions that come to mind include ending the event early, moving to another house, changing the lot type, and removing tombstones/urns. I'm not familiar with the Haunting Event (it might come from a pack I don't have) so I don't know whether any of these other ideas will work.
