HELP!! no potty train option sims 4

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Has never worked - 100%
What is your current game version number? new just purchased this week. Expansion packs purchased less than  24hrs ago.
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats and dogs, Get to Work, Greenhouse haven, Coartyard oasis, Parent hood, Realm of Magic, Horse Ranch
Steps: have tried using rest object
What happens when the bug occurs? Toddler needs to potty but no option to potty train when potty is clicked, only can put in inventory. also, no other options for teaching toddlers than reading and peekaboo. Cannot show how to use toddler toys. Adults Cannot use toys meant for toddlers. 
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to potty train and interact more with my toddler than trying foods, playing peek a boo and reading a book. 
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? NO
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? I just bought this game and this was with my first family, i do not know if the potty worked before i added the expansion packs.

Trying foods and peek a boo are infant interactions. If you age up your infant to toddler you'll get the toddler ones. 

ok let me make this clear, i am not a child so when i say my sim is a toddler, i mean they are a toddler. They can sit in a high chair, but cant play patta cake, can only be read to. they can also only sleep in a toddler crib, there is a sleep action when i click on the toddler bed with the toddler selected but it is always greyed out even if they are super tired. There is no option for the parents to put the toddler in the toddler bed. Literally all the parents can do with the kids with the parenting expansion pack is read to them and teach them new foods, i literally cannot teach them anything else. No potty training, to teaching to talk option, no teaching to walk option etc. They can play dolls.... but i cant teach them anything. 

Heres the glitches:

Parents can only play patta cake, bottle feed and read to infant. They cannot teach speech, potty train or put toddlers in toddler beds other than the crib.

Okay, you're not a child. Neither are we. You just bought this game. We've been playing it for years. Chances are we know a bit more about it than you do. Perhaps you don't realize that a new life stage was added to the Sims about a year ago. Sims no longer go directly from Babies to Toddlers. Instead, Sims now go from Newborns to Infants, and then to Toddlers. Infants look a lot like Toddlers but they have very different interactions.

Everything you tell us about your Toddler just confirms that you're actually talking about an Infant. Infants can sit in high chairs, just like Toddlers can, but the Infants don't get the same interactions  that Toddlers do. Infants can sleep in cribs, but Toddlers cannot. Toddlers sleep in Toddler Beds. There is no toddler crib. Teach New Foods is an interaction that only applies to Infants, not to Toddlers. Potty Training is an interaction that only applies to Toddlers, not to Infants.

As you can see, everything you tell us fits if your Sim is an Infant but doesn't fit if your Sim is a Toddler. That's why we are convinced that you have just made a mistake about the age of your Sim.
