High School "Exit" traits not saving to the Gallery

This issue is with the expansion pack, High School Years. I was saving a "fleshed out" sim character to the Gallery, testing it out before uploading it online (Gallery). The sim I made has the Valedictorian trait, meaning he is a graduated in Copperdale High School with as a valedictorian, or the highest honor, I suppose. I age him up to a Young Adult, have him go to the Foxbury Institute and graduate with a distinguished degree in Biology with high honors, then age him up to a fully grown Adult. Upon saving him with traits like the Valedictorian trait, I didn't think any of it. But when I load him to a different save from the local Gallery, I check his traits and the Valedictorian trait is missing. Almost every aspect of his progress in in-game life is saved except for two things: said trait, and his household funds being §50,000. I remember household funds catches upon saving the household to the Gallery, locally or online. So this might've broke somewhere down the line of many updates, and no one's noticed. But my concern is with his high school "exit" trait - it is how they're called in the codes - Valedictorian. I don't know if it also goes for the other exit traits like Graduated with Honors, Graduated High School Early, etc.

My sim's Biology degree is saved in the household, his milestones, his skills, his career... except for this one trait and his original household funds reverting to §20,000 like a new household. Even the reward traits like Sickness Resistance from becoming level 8 in the Doctor (active) career from Get To Work is saved, his character value trait, Good Manners, and the Romantic Sage trait from Lovestruck is saved. But not his Valedictorian trait, which is odd to me. Has anyone gotten this issue before as well? Is it addressed somewhere, or no? I wish - hope - it was, even if many are "casual" players who wouldn't actually care for such a thing. And I hope this wouldn't be dismissed as well. I would ignore this if I weren't to always cheat every time I add him, and I plan to upload him online to the Gallery for everyone to add him as well. So this trait being missing would be kind of a bummer.

  • diavolosims  I would guess no one answered because no one has anything helpful to say.  I would suggest instead posting in the Bug Forum on Answers HQ, which is currently the location EA employees use to gather information.  This site is still a beta.

It may be that a bug report already exists for this, in which case your post would be merged.  In that case, you could subscribe to the master thread for updates, or provide your save or any other info requested in that thread.

Please do test with no mods or custom content present, if you haven't already.  Bug reports need to be from a modless save.

Hi, and thank you for replying! I did actually make a thread in the Answers HQ. I made the post side-by-side to this one, and I check if there's any similar experience from other players, or if there's an already existing thread about the problem. But it seems like they know one's ever noticed before, maybe? I have further checked other non-personality traits like the different Grief-types from Life & Death, and different Fears, and those too save. Reward traits such as (Un)happy Infant, or Low/High Self-Esteem saves; degrees from Discover University, an older EP than High School Years, save but is now placed under their own Degrees tab instead of a trait (must be updated somewhere down the line). Lifestyles from Snowy Escape save; careers save; household funds sort of saves if you enter CAS before placing them to a lot rather than going to the Gallery and placing them immediately to lot.

Lastly, Milestones from Growing Together save, although these bug out themselves by placing newer ones after the older ones in most cases. And if saved and imported to a saved game, the sim's milestones would turn generic, losing any sim, place/location, or trait referrals (ex. "<ThisSim> fell in love with <ThatSim>" will turn simply into "<ThisSim> fell in love"). But back to High School "exit" traits, these traits are probably the only traits I know of that do not save in the Gallery once placing them again. I will always have to re-add the trait/s via a mod like UI Cheats Extensions if I have to. They would always revert to the typical High School Graduate rather than keep their custom High School status, whether they graduated with honors, a valedictorian, or dropped out of high school, or even got expelled from it. Once the sim turns Young Adult, saved into the local Gallery, then placed to a new game - new saved game - it won't save.

Bumping this thread (if it's allowed). Is it not a popular enough concern to be addressed or looked into? 😞
