Horse Ranch with seasons
So i debating getting seasons. I already know i can't have spring all year long but that brings me to the question I can't find an answer to on google. How do animals react to the seasons. Especiall...
@Violetasain I have Seasons and all of the animal/pet content. They're fine in the weather. I don't do anything different for them but in worlds that have weather effects they have covered dwellings. Chestnut Ridge does get snow but the horses are fine. I put heating outside too, like the patio heaters from Dine Out or one of the Snowy Escape fireplaces, or a pot belly style fire. I've tested stables with a little stove inside and some without, it made no difference.
The only thing I don't like is seeing strays in the bad weather as they look even sadder, I play with rain off too as I hate rain. You can also turn off snow if you want to and turn it back on at anytime and you can adjust the length of seasons at any time from 7/14/28 days. There's a weather machine too if you want to use it. So the weather is customised to however you want it.
You can turn off weather effects on Sims in Game Options anyway to stop anyone freezing to death but I find that with Sims they still need clothing from the right categories. So in snowy weather they need to be in winter clothing. You can also buy reward traits to help mitigate weather effects on Sims. They will annoy you by wearing a ski suit in the house in the winter but I usually choose a couple of outdoor winter outfits and a few indoor winter outfits to help with that. It's annoying when they are sitting in the house in a woolly hat, ski goggles and enormous boots lol.
I highly recommend Seasons, it has really lovely content, I find it essential. It does mean your plants will stop producing harvestables all year round but putting some indoors, in a greenhouse can help with that (although it's been a little buggy lately).
Hope this helps!☔
