How does the game sort relations these days?

Not long ago relaions were sorted by who my sim had been in touch with lastly. Talking to or making a phone call would bring that sim to the top of the list. This is no lnger the case in my game, and I have problems undersanding how relations are sorted. Like why is this sim's wife listed near the bottom of the list (out of sight)? How strong he relations are makes no difference either. Neither do their names.
