@SorrahV I merged your post with the main thread.
Try the following
- Turn off online social features access in your game options
- Close the game
- Move accountDataDB.package to the desktop
- Start the game.
- You will loose access to the gallery as well.

I want to be able to opt out of these silly celebrations. It isn't right that players are being forced to participate. The Grim Reaper one was frustrating and full of bugs! I've seen people online venting their frustration of not being able to opt out. They are a huge pain to myself and others!

I stopped playing so that I could opt out of the Reaper thing and was just considering maybe going back - and now I see there is ANOTHER unavoidable event.
Please, for the love of crackers, make these optional. Please understand the way your players actually play and not the way you're trying to force them to engage. Most of the player base is just trying to play their own little stories out and not conform to some external To Do List. I'm fine having the OPTION of the challenges or scenarios or what have you, but sometimes I just want to do the story I'm creating.
I still want to use the Gallery, so don't point me at the "fix" above. We should not have to choose between entirely cutting ourselves off from the Sims 4 community and being forced into an invasive experience in a game that succeeded once upon a time because it let people imagine and play however they wished.
FIX THIS, EA, or I'm done with Sims 4, sad as it makes me.
I've been playing a lot of Sims 3 since the Reaper thing started and gosh, it's been a relief. - SorrahV1 year agoSeasoned Rookie
Thank you Crin! Must echo the concerns of most of the posters in the thread as well. These events should be 100% optional.
- nickinbigd1 year agoSeasoned AceThis doesn’t work for us on consoles. We are forced to have the silly challenge icon on our screens whether we want it or not.
I wish they would just fix the basic bugs (like Sims showering in their underwear) and pause these mandated challenges - sheridanhoughton1 year agoRising Adventurer
thanks, that worked a treat.
- crinrict1 year agoHero+@nickinbigd For console it would probably work if you do it before the game knows about the event. It's too late for this one but for the next one, turn off the option as soon as you hear about it.

I am not interested in the new cozy event or any other timed events, the FOMO-element behind it massively stresses me out. But I also don't want to loose access to the gallery. So please, EA let me opt out of those events or at least don't open the event UI every time I exit from build mode or change family etc. It's so annoying.

HOW DO I DISABLE THOSE HORRIBLE COZY EVENTS?? I TRIED EVERYTHING NOTHING IS WORKING?
