This totally works to rid one's game of the Reaper icon and everything associated with it. The only downside is that it does remove access to the online gallery which isn't a problem. I'll just check mark it when I need to use the online gallery which isn't that often.
Thank you so much puzzlezaddict

Even though I was able to do what was suggested and turn off everything I agree with you that it should not be necessary.
There should be an easier way to opt out of these things in the regular options menu. I have played the Sims for my entire life.
The Sims all the way till Sims 4. Bought almost everything they put out. I DESERVE to not have this stuff shoved down my throat. - MotherEarth251 year agoSeasoned Novice
I tried this as suggested and sure it worked for the one thing but now I can't use the gallery....So I can't mark this as a solution.
EA needs to give us the option to opt out of just these quests/rewards/weekly micro transaction bs... :( Don't hold your breath, people. We're still waiting for EA to restore the "Gallery News Feed" which disappeared in early 2023 when the Gallery was "upgraded". This was supposed to be temporary and resolved but ... surprise, surprise ... not only has it not happened, but requests for a date, or even just an indication of one, go unanswered.
This latest move would frustrate and infuriate me if I played as frequently as I used to, but I've stopped buying any further expansions / packs / kits and now just load it now and again to see if an update has addressed it. So, all the money I've spent buying every single extra they released is wasted. Hopefully a genuine alternative, where player / customer opinions actually matter, will hit the market in the near future. Maybe I should google what's potentially out there.
- CircuitD1 year agoSeasoned Veteran@mightyspritesims I wish they allowed people to choose if they want even do the event. I never do scenarios because they are full of errors so they should have just made this optional. They basically hijacked my game for a month while destroying save files and robbing people of the ability to play their game. Oh you can try if you don’t care about your save files because they will be destroyed. It’s incredible how many LE I get and how much my game started freezing in a clean, no mod, no cc save. It’s absolutely disgusting. I real wish they just sold the game to someone competent preferably an indie developer that will actually make this game functional and fun. EA has destroyed the Sims legacy.

I turned off discovery quests on the game options and also deleted the package file. It’s still there. Anything I can do?
vcoop123 The setting is Online Social Features Access, not Discovery Quests. And you need to delete accountDataDB after disabling the setting.
