Totally worked for me.
- nickinbigd1 year agoSeasoned Ace@CircuitD Agreed. EA forcing everyone into a challenge whether they want it or not, when the whole point of the game is to create your own world and style of gameplay is a huge betrayal. Not giving us a way to opt it or delete the challenge (I’m on Xbox) is a slap in the face. I’m counting the days until this stupid grim reaper challenge is over. Won’t play in the meantime. And won’t but anymore junk from EA for this game
@puzzlezaddict this broke my game, is there a way to redownload that folder? My sim can't have her baby and no one can age up
@BluJae4 Deleting accountDataDB, if that's all you did, does not break anything. This file doesn't affect gameplay; it simply stores data that the Reaper event function later applies to your account. And the file will be recreated the next time you launch Sims 4 if Online Social Features is enabled.
Point is, the problem in your game lies elsewhere.

sadly for those of us on Xbox there’s not even a “delete folder” workaround

I have had to stop playing The Sims both on my PS4 and PC! How much longer? I'm not interested in paranormal of any kind, why can I not have a choice of how to play a game I've paid so much for? 😡
Cheeky_Chiana For PC at least, load the game, disable Online Social Features (under Options > Game Options > Other), quit, and delete accountDataDB.package, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. This should prevent the Reaper quest from showing up at all.
