Solved

I can't change my human/alien/vampire/inbred/offsprings outfit or hair.

I have a human/alien/vampire very inbred teen. I can not alter her real looks. I can change everything about her disguise but when I change her real looks/clothes/hair everything changes back to her original look when I exit CAS. I've tried all menu and cheat options all with the same results.I know I'm missing the only right way but I can't figure out what that way is. I have tried with and without mods. I playing on pc.

  • Hi @lbrown4911

I'm closing this thread here as the modded content being discussed is above the age rating of the game and therefore not appropriate to continue discussing on the forum.

    Thanks,

  • @lbrown4911 Did you also remove all of the cache from your Mods? Also, do you have or have had before any CC? This could also be causing an issue - or cache from it. The way to eliminate that possibility before troubleshooting other things is as follows:

Please try the following in this exact order without skipping any steps, even if you have done some of these steps already:

    • Exit your game then exit Origin. Please drag the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop (for future reference) then delete the localthumbnailcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder. Also delete any other folders in the 'Sims 4' folder with word cache in the name. (When you restart the game it will automatically create a new Mods folder.)
    • Next please run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs).

Do not re-add any or your Mods or CC at this time. Please then restart your game. See if the issue is present.

If this fixes the issue you can re-add your Mods/CC one at a time to see if one was conflicting with the function/causing the glitch - but do not re-add the old config file from the old mods folder, as it is possible for it to have become corrupted also.

Please let us know how it goes. If this is not the issue we can troubleshoot further. Thanks!

I can verify I had the same experience. My hybrid child was born in game without mods or cc of any kind.
An NPC was invited to join my household and turned into a vampire in game. He was then abducted and impregnated by aliens.
Attempts to restyle his daughter were futile. I tried to restyle her as a toddler, a child and again as a teen but none of my efforts stuck.
Her powers manifested as a teenager and she had both vampire and alien abilities. It was not until I cured her of her vampirism that she was "fixed".
My theory is that although the game allowed this to happen it was 'confused' about how to handle the hybrid.
Unfortunately if your hybrid child was born before the patch they may not be fixable/

  • @lbrown4911  You can't change their hair or clothing in the CAS. You can take them shopping if you have Get to Work. You can even purchase the retail store and customize the mannequin outfits just for your hybrid and take them shopping after to alter all their clothing.

The other option is to cure the vampirism and then you can freely edit the hybrid in the CAS.

@SheriGR The suggestion from @PoptartJuniper does work with the outfits. You can also purchase a mannequin for your house that also works. If I use the one from @EuphorialQueen she can not become a magic user. Neither one will keep any changes to her alien hair .

@lbrown4911 My girl has gone crazy now. I logged back into my game and played a different sim for a few minutes then switched back to the girl that I was having the problem with. I had her go to the mirror to change her outfit.
When i exited the mirror it worked for the first outfit so I i did it again for her formal that also worked. It fixed itself I thought. Did it again for her athletic outfit then it happened everything she was wearing even her hair changed to something completely different. Everything. Is it possible to send you a copy of my game so you can try it?

@lbrown4911 If you would like to Direct Message me a game save I can get it to @EuphorialQueen . @PoptartJuniper is on PS4, so the save would not work on her game since you're on PC. I could also test in my game (I'm on Mac) but I have not played hybrids - though that shouldn't matter if I'm testing your save. Something that may work as a first step is for you to upload your sim to the gallery for us to try in our games first to see if we can reproduce. If you want to try that first, just share the exact name of the household here in a message, and let us know if your gallery name is any different than your name here.

Did you ever try to 'shift+click' on the sim and select 'reset sim'?

It appears your game is highly influenced by mods.
You can use mods and or custom content if you wish but they are not supported by EA / Maxis.

Please see my comments above regarding hybrid Sims.
    Maxis Policy on Mods
    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/mods-and-the-sims-4-game-updates/#policy

Even without the mods there is not a current 'fix' for hybrid SIms.
