I cant get back my old sim

A few hours before, I had edited my sim and I did in fact save. I was ignorant and didn't save my sim to my gallery. My sim died and she was the only one on the plot so I lost everything. Is there a way I can recover my sim without recovering the save file as it got overridden without my knowledge.

@MorganIsTrash_ The Sim usually also auto-saves to the local library when you create them. Did you check there ?

@MorganIsTrash_ Usually you have more than one save file in the saves folder. You could try to open the one of which you definitely know your Sim was still alive and rename that one to a totally new save. In that way you will not mix up or override other files.

When something like that happens (a dying sim) to me I just quit the game without saving thus going back to an earlier stage of the game and excepting the loss in progress I made.
