I need help when it comes to buisness. Sims 4

I started a rags to riches challenge for my self to see how far i can come. And now i have a Vet clinic worth 150k (if i sell it) with top qualified Employees and they never let me down, always ready to work and stuff... How ever i do have a "Issue" with the perk that makes the buisness run better from home. "Well managed"

So far i have only had this Perk work 2 times... 1 time i got 8k from it, second time i got 19k and thats alright. I tought that with this kind of turn around i can enjoy what ever this game has to offer to the fullest. How ever i do not know how to trigger it.. Because i am talking about like 2 times in an entire day's playthrough...

what triggers the buisness to work from "home" Or other places? What is the secret because so far i have only been let down by this buisness.. As fun as it is running a buisness its not very fun to run one if i cant even leave it few times while it works when there is DEFINITIVELY ideas that it should work (perk)...

so how does this work?

  • @TeGu_93 The perk says it 'Lowers the chance of bad events from happening while your sim is away.' That doesn't mean it will run itself great, it means tragedy is less likely, which is a good thing, of course.

It has been a few months, so I am bit foggy on this, but I did have one game where I added the 'well managed' perk. My memory of this is that the perk didn't seem to make much difference, but it was a bit hard to tell. I was running a retail store at the time with that family and would sometimes open the restaurant while at the retail store (I kept the retail store open longer hours since I wasn't dependent on an employee shift hours max (as you know, they rather max out at around 8-12 hours). In my case it was a restaurant that I had the 'well managed' perk at. I still would get warnings after it was open a while that it was losing money, but it normally seemed to recover from that by the time I sent my sims there to manage near the end of the 'shift'. It definitely does better when your sim is there to manage, though, in my experience.

I haven't run a vet clinic, so that may be different. Even if it helps some, and you can have the place not fall apart while you're gone and make some money, that's all gravy, right? If it works like the restaurant dynamic, perhaps you can play with the timing of when you open it and how much of the day you have the  sim drop in and manage things on-site and see what seems to be the best balance for you/your sim and your needs and gameplay style.
