Infinite loading screen when trying to play with household
I can open The Sims 4 normally, but when I click on "Resume Game," the loading screen just stays there and never advances to the household. I even tried selecting "Load Game" instead, which does work—it takes me to the worlds and lets me edit the households—but when I click "Play" on any household, it still gets stuck loading and never opens the game. Here’s the relevant information about my game and what I’ve tried so far, but nothing has worked:
- When did it happen?: August 8, 2025
- Version: 1.116.240.1020 DX9
- Has it happened before?: No, this is the first time I’ve experienced this issue. Actually, I played on the early morning today and it was fine, the problem started in the afternoon.
- Which packs do I use?: All expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and kits released up to now.
- Extra info: In the EA App, under "View Properties" for The Sims 4 in my library, I’ve entered the following in order to only play with the packs I want for this specific save:

- Are they updated?: Yes, they are all up to date.
- Steps I tried: I checked that all mods are up to date and tried entering the save. Removed all mods from the Mods folder and tried entering again. Cleared cache, deleted everything from the “Tray” folder, lowered graphics settings to the minimum, and tried again (without mods). Repaired the game in EA App with all packs and used "App recovery" in EA App and tried again (no mods). Deleted the localthumbcache.package file and tried once more (no mods). None of these steps worked.
- Do I get any error message?: No, it just won’t let me play the save. The game opens fine, I can access "Manage Worlds and Households," and I can edit all the households I have. But when I try to actually play a household, the loading screen never ends.
