Solved

Invisible Fire on lot

This happens out of nowhere. I will be playing normally and all of a sudden I will hear a fire. The game acts Like there is a fire happening. I can call the fire department. The notification that they are on the way comes up. I wait and nothing happens. No firemen show up and the fire can still be heard. I try calling the fire department again. I get the same thing. Notification they are coming and nothing happens. I cannot save so I quit to main menu or out completely. I launch the game again. It can take 10-30 minutes of play and it happens all over again.

  • @NikkiStixx525Do you have bust the dust? I have had this happen for upper levels of houses with floor tiles that I thought were roof tiles. The solution was to delete the tiles.

Edit to add: this involved houses downloaded from the gallery

  • @NikkiStixx525 Do you have Mods/CC? If so, did you test without them to see if the 'fake fire' occurs?

    Spoiler
Exit the game. Move the Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can then test without saving – or in a new vanilla game save – in order to identify which CC/Mods are causing the issue. Then remove or add updated version(s) of the Mod/CC causing the issue.

Thank you! This was the issue. I found the fire on a floor my sims could not get to. Thanks again.
