@KHLVH1345 there's a terrain tool in build mode where you can raise and lower terrain, add ponds, paint the ground with different grass, dirt and gravel. Is that what you are looking for? If so, in build mode it's on the right hand side of the build section images. I'm not looking at it right now, I've just switched off my console but I think it looks like a pile of dirt with a spade if I remember correctly.
- @simsplayer818 I'm talking outside of the lot , not on the lot itself. that Terrain tool does nothing off lot.
- @KHLVH1345 If it's outside of the boundaries of the lot I don't think you'll be able to achieve what you're looking for. There are cheats and mods depending on your platform (I'm on console) that allow some modifications to hidden worlds for example that I'm aware exist but I've not used them. But editing the general world around your lot when I've looked, I found the answer was no.
I edit a lot of public spaces but I'd have liked to do more outside of lots too. Maybe we'll see it from Project Rene in the next installment of the Sims franchise. I hope so. @KHLVH1345 Hi! I did a little research and was not able to find a mod that allows editing of the ground off lots. However, it seems TwistedMexi announced a Create A World mod about a year ago. So far, the most current update I've seen is a video he shared five months ago and there's no telling how long it will take until the mod is ready for public release. It does look pretty cool though so maybe check it out on his website, if you're interested.
- @JonaO703 It frustrates me when there's a mod that can potentially do something I really want to do since I'm on console. I hope they look at including fully customisable worlds in the future.
@simsplayer818 Hey! I understand your frustration. :-( I think I should mention this new mod that TM is working on doesn't allow for adding lots, if you haven't already looked at the site. It's only for customizing the surroundings within the world. I'm certain there are lots of people who would enjoy this kind of thing but I have to wonder if there is a big enough customer base to warrant EA creating something like it. For me, I think it would depend on how easy it is to do. Personally, I get irritated with manipulating terrain and such just building within the existing lots. I can't imagine wanting to spend time editing the worlds. On the other hand, there are times that I do wish I could make the area surrounding my lot look the same. Many times, the sidewalk or the bricks or the grass look so different that it can be distracting (and possibly triggering for someone with OCD). Anyway, as I was looking at some of TM's videos, I noticed some viewer comments related to the fact that there are so many things like this that are addressed by mods so we know it's possible. Perhaps there are enough people who would pay for for a CAW expanson? Perhaps EA could even get away with charging more than the usual price for something like that? Who knows? Yes, if not for TS4, then hopefully they'll consider it for the next gen game.
- @JonaO703 Yes good point. If it was optional or an extra feature. I do hate when things don't match and I like to upgrade areas as I go. Evergreen Harbour and Strangerville are 2 examples that bother me the most. I do have OCD, so you're absolutely right about that. I would like to have total control over the whole design for that reason. Actually the suburban part of Del sol valley is the same, I'd really love to take a design tool to it and upscale it.
I can see it being part of Sims 5 from the clips I've seen so far it looks like customisation plays a big part.
