Issue with windows going white once moving up a floor

Hello,

I have only noticed this issue around 2-3 days ago and have tried a few things but since I don't know whether this is really an EA update issue I am asking for help here:

So the issue is, as can be seen in the attached pictures, that the windows, which are supposed to be transparent, turn white once I move up a floor.
They act normal on the floor I am on at that moment but once I move up, the windows on the floor below turn white - fyi it does not matter whether they are CC windows or in-game windows they all behave the same.
Weirdly enough the doors and glass fences are not affected by this although they also have "glass" panels in them.

I have tried removing all CC from the game and deleted the thumbcache.package file but the issue is persisting.

Now am getting a bit anxious that the issue was somehow caused by the recent update and because I did not back-up my saves before I updated and have already overrode my latest save file, I won't be able to fix the issue T_T
(the issue is constant even in older save files before the last game update now)

If anyone would be nice enough to either give me advice or guide me someplace where the issue could be looked at I would appreciate it!

If more information is needed please let me know!
Thank you!

  • Hi JaVe191294

Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    • Press Windows-Key + R
    •  Type: DxDiag
    • Click on Save all Information.
    • Attach the Text File to your post

What's the error code you're getting and where ?

    Hello,
thanks for responding so fast and sorry for the late reply due to likely time difference ^^"

Attached is the file requested (i wasn't sure whether I should add it to my post and if it then somehow shows that the post was edited/updated? It's my first time posting on here so I am still a bit uncertain how things work <_<)

I hope it is ok that the doc is a text file if needed in another format please just leave a comment and I will convert it.

I am not really getting any error code per se, just simply having the issues with the windows not showing up correctly.

I play via EA app/Steam and also made a screenshot of the version I am currently playing on.
But seeing that the DxDiag is showing data regarding DirectX could it be that I need to update this to play on DX11?

I did read a post around 2 days ago about Step-by-Step guide for DX11 (it's in German but the gist is just how to upgrade to DX11)

    UPDATE:
i just went into the game and the windows are back to normal???????
Would it still be better to update to DX11 or should i wait it out and see whether the issue comes back?

thanks again for the help, it's greatly appreciated!

Your graphics chip is very low and the drivers ancient. I don't know if there are any newer drivers. The game usually defaults to DX9 with graphics chips although your computer is probably able to run DX11, I don't think that's the issue though as it used to work (and as per your edit now works again).

It's probably best if you post in the PC tech forum instead of bugs if you have fuhrer issues with them going white.

You can just refer to this thread when making a new one

yeah, my notebook was not really bought with gaming in mind back then ^^"
and it's been a good solid 6 years since I bought it so I am not surprised that the system is not really up to par with what might be needed for smooth game play compared to other PCs xD

I will check the drivers for the graphic card, maybe there were updates that I missed.

Since you say it's best for now to leave it be and see how it goes I will do so and should I encounter this issue again I will then post in the tech forum as linked.

Thank you for your help ^___^
