item stuck in active sims inventory.
My sim keeps picking up the butlers book To serve and not be served and there is no way to remove it from my active sims inventory. is there a way to remove it? Because there is no way to drop or sell this item.

Do you use mods or any cc? Some of it may be interfering with your game so they'll need checking. There is also a mod to 'sell inventory'.
If not.. use 'repair game' by exiting the game, right-click the little cog to repair game. (as pictured)

no mods I did try a sell inventory mod but either I didn't install it correctly or it was out of date. Do you have a link to the one you mentioned. I have tried to repair my game but that didn't seem to do anything for that issue. Thanks for your response Sasha.

Also forgot to ask have you tried the shift right click to reset the sim? There is also a mod that I love that can 'delete' an object I went in search a while back - weerbesu keeps it updated so you will have to find it via - Mod the sims.. [Script Mod] enable advanced debug/cheat interactions on page 30 comment #732 Weerbesu has updated it, and also checks on it when needed to keep it that way.
Sorry, I can't give you the direct link for that, the other mod does look out of date to 'sell inventory' so no need for that one.

ok I found the mod and got it to work.... however I can't find the option to delete inventory items with shift click. is there a console command like testingcheats true that I need to use? thanks again for your reply.
- Glad you found it ok... It deletes the item.. not the 'inventory' place it in the world then delete it.
ah ok that's the thing I can't even move it out of my inventory its stuck there lol.
- But I thought you said your sim 'keeps picking it up' - next time it does delete it in the sims hand (but not the sim.. lol)

Just did a quick search and found these #2 was the common fix... 1: Shutting and reopening the game, which I guess you've tried 2: Move household out and back in and that should clear the inventory.

tried moving out and the book is still stuck in my sims personal inventory not the household inventory.
and this > "If you evict your sim and then move them to another lot, those stuck items in their inventories will become un-stuck and you can delete them".
