[JA] how to tell genuine from false artifacts after authenticating?

I'm enjoying Jungle Adventure a lot recently and I was wondering if there's a way to see if an artifact is false or genuine after authenticating? I know you get a popup that it's false or genuine after your sim authenticated it, but after that you can't seem to find back this information, unless I'm missing something. I had favourited all the genuine items in my sims inventory, but suddenly the favourite mark is gone on all of them (items are still there tho). If I let my sim perform archaeological analysis, it's not stated anymore either.

Thanks in advance!

  • @IrisuChan the Omiscan Artifacts always look the same. The genuine ones are in the attachment I've added. They always look like that so you can recognise them. They vary in quality though and you just need to hover the cursor over them to see if they are Poor or Excellent.

The fake items always look the same too. So the fake mask is always bright teal, the fake knife is always a kind of pinky colour, the fake vase is always a solid pale turquoise colour and so on.

I hope that's what you meant, anyway.

    I absolutely love Jungle Adventure.

@simsplayer818 thank you! So there's no way to tell in-game? I just don't understand why it's not added in the description like fake or genuine after you authenticated. 😅 I also really love Jungle Adventure! I got it a couple of months ago, only really starting to discover it now. It's very much fun.

@IrisuChan You tell by it's appearance after it's out of the dirt clump and authenticated. So if you have artifacts that look like the ones in the image above, they are always the real ones. The items that don't look like those ones are the fakes. Looking in your inventory if you have the fakes mixed in, they stand out because they don't look like the genuine ones but there's only one design of each fake. So you'll get used to seeing them and know by sight that it's a fake by it's colour.
I've tried to find an image of the fakes but can't find one unfortunately.

@IrisuChan Are they not labeled? It’s been a few months since I played with JA (my next planned archeologist is about to graduate high school though) but I thought that it was in the item name. “Unauthenticated x” would either become “Authenticated x” or “Fake x” or something like that.

@PipMenace they just go from either a dirt clump or unauthenticated item, to being cleaned up and labelled as to their quality and name. I've grabbed a couple of images of some of mine to better explain. With the fakes it tells you they are counterfeit if you hover the pointer over them or select them, but once you know what the fakes look like you just know on sight once cleaned up. They don't say they are authenticated though, you just know it because they're clean.

@IrisuChan I thought of something to mention incase you didn't know. Did you know you can stop the authentication process halfway if you have a lot of dirt clumps to deal with, then send them off to be authenticated and save you some time? You just cancel the process once your Sim has chipped the dirt away and you're left with a dusty unauthenticated item. You can then just post it off from home and tackle the next dirt clump. I do that when my Sim has loads of them as it takes ages working through them all.

@simsplayer818  Counterfeit! That’s the label that’s used, thank you. So @IrisuChan, you can tell real ones from fakes because the item label says “Counterfeit” if it’s fake. (And yes, once you’ve played a bit you’ll also start to recognize the counterfeit without needing to check the label.)

Aaaah! counterfeit, that's the word... maybe this specific sim I was playing didn't get any counterfeit items so far. 😂 I can't remember seeing that at all, but that's clear enough to distinguish items. Thanks so much for clarifying this, everyone. :D

@simsplayer818  thanks for the tip about sending the items off to be authenticated. I knew about this option, just haven't used it so far. I'll try it! The authenticating really does take time. :D
