July 23rd update wrecked my game

Same. I can no longer play the game at all. Something or the other gets stuck or disappears or does not function each time I try to play 

Since updating the game today, my game is broken. played for about 3 minutes, then all menu actions broke. I could not click on anything. couldn't even save and quit. the game gave me a black screen and locked up. I have no mods or CC installed. 

Glad to see I'm not the only one. My main sims game seems to be completely broken. I can't even exit the game if I load it up, I have to force quit it. I took out all my mods and it still was broken. I made a new sims game and it seemed to be fine, but I didn't play test it because I don't want to start a new game. I play on Mac btw. Hoping this gets fixed soon.

I can't press any of the options in the top left corner (notification center, menu pop up, build mode, gallery, etc.) and my teenager sims panel is completely glitched. The spot where the Parenthood traits go is going crazy,  the traits will decrease then increase then decrease then increase, and it's very rapid too. I can't even quit the game so I have to open a new window to force quit it.

I have been having issues since the July 23rd update as well. I cant save the game or click on any options. 

I played with the new update for all of 5 minutes before my sims stopped working. The sims in my household will not hold a queue and just stand there doing nothing. I tried using the resetSim cheat that is listed on EAs website for this exact problem and it did nothing. I’ve tried restarting it multiple times and still nothing. I also don’t use mods.

Same here. I play on mac. I've completely removed my mods and deleted the localthumbcache.package and still can't play. I can load into my previous save but I can't click on any of the characters once I'm there or get them to do anything. I also can't spead up time. Play acts like pause and speed x2 and x3 just jumps the time ahead but does nothing else. I've tried restarting, repairing, everything short of completely deleting the game and redownloading. I don't know why it's so hard to just test a patch before you release it to the public. Thats why I never buy new packs when they come out, gotta wait a few months for all the broken-ness to get fixed. But I've never had an update completely break my game before. 

I was on the game absolutely fine yesterday morning. Comes to the afternoon and the update happens, I now cannot even open the game as my PC sees the game as a threat. This has never happened in the 6 years I've been playing. Fingers crossed no saves or purchases are lost

Springpickles and gem26clr  Please test with no mods or custom content, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package.
