life and death glitch with wills - simoleon

Hello. I noticed that when I moved my elderly sim out of the household and tried to update his will, the simoleon section was greyed out and said "already allocated to many simoleons. clear previous choices to edit." I never selected any simoleon distribution before but i cleared it and it still wouldn't let me. Pretty sure this is a glitch? How do i resolve this so i can distribute all his money to his kids?
