Life In City Living Sucks

If I had known how City Living for SIMS4 was going to be, I would have saved myself 40 bucks and bought something else. I think trolls must have designed this DLC. Frustrating as hell. Takes the fun out of the game. If you like rats (Reminds me of living in a bunker with rats when I was in Nam. LOL), roaches and neighbors blasting music (Hint:Turn off the sound on your PC and listen to music from another source, like I did.) then City Living is for you. Your SIMS will be so busy killing pests and stressing out, they will hardly be able to focus on leveling up. I wish I could just move my SIMS out of the city, but they are stuck there living in hell. As in real life, the city is a great place to visit, but it sucks to live there. Maybe it's time to go back to Skyrim for a while, or the Vanilla Unicorn. 😉

I sort of agree with you, the apartment living experience isn’t so awesome but I love the festivals, food stalls and busking. I had it on my pc version of the game and i’m waiting for a decent sale to get it on my ps4. not sure i’d move a sim into one of the apartments unless it was super chill with no noisy hobbies though lol.

@WhiteWolfTanker, and @xRMJIx, certain apartments can be frustrating, to say the least! 😮  So I mostly stick to the apartments that don't have these problems! 😃:eahigh_file:  Then I don't mind living in the city! 🙂  My main problem with living in the city is lack of space to expand when you have more children, since I love to play families! 😳  But this mirrors real life since many single people move to the suburbs when they marry and have children. 🙂

Most places aren't that bad...Gnomes are good, and I don't mind Haunted.  Stay away from Needs TLC, Lively Neighbors, Gremlins, and Quake Zone

    Arts Quarter

    Medina Studios

    920 - Haunted & Quiet

    930 - Gnomes & Penny Pixies

    Benali - Needs TLC

    Hakim House

    122 - Historical

    Jang - Home Studio

    Spice Market

    Jasmine Suites

2B - Good Schools & On Ley Line

Bheeda - Good Schools & Romantic Aura

The Old Salt House (Not an apartment) - Convivial

    Culpepper Apartments

    18 - Historical & Haunted

    19 - Needs TLC

    17 - Gremlins

    Rasoya - Chef's Kitchen

    Fashion District

    Zen View Apartments

    708 - Quake Zone

Karaoke Legends - Quake Zone & Party Place

    21 Chic Street Apartments

    1313 - Needs TLC

    1310 - Lively Neighbors

    Pizzazz - Lively Neighbors

    Uptown

    Alto Apartments

    1010 - Chef's Kitchen

    Lobo - Romantic Fireplace

    Landgraab Apartments

VIII - Great View & Serviced Apartment

    Feng - Great View

    Spire Apartments

    888 - Great View

So, I think the worst neighborhood is the Fashion District, unless you don't mind earthquakes. :eahigh_file:  You can't go wrong with anything in Uptown! 🍸 The 2 other neighborhoods depends on which particular apartment you pick! 😉

@xRMJIx, I just tested a Quake Zone apartment (Fashion District Zen View Apartments, 702), and so far no earthquakes, but I did have my neighbors be too loud 2 times in 4 Sim-days!?!? 😮🤔   The only thing I can think of is that my neighbors are the Karaoke Legends whose apartment the Party Place characteristic.

So, I don't know if this is why they were noisy, even though my apartment doesn't have the Lively Neighbors characteristic.  Either it is my the Party Place tag for next door, or possibly that any apartment can have a noisy neighbor occasionally, but that ones with the Lively Neighbors tag always have problems, and the ones with the Quiet tag never have problems. 😉  I just seem to remember that some apartments are real headaches and some (like in Uptown) are really more relaxing.  (And since the Spire Apartments in Uptown only have one apartment, it should not have any noisy neighbors! 😃 )

    Sorry for any confusion! 😳

If you find any apartments that are not so annoying in your opinion, please tell us! 😉

Good luck with your alphabet legacy! 🥳

  • I haven't had any of those issues and play the city mostly - and my sims love it there...  BUT... I have always lived in one of the penthouses or The Old Salt House. No neighbor or other issues in those, plus you can re-design, add walls/rooms for more family, etc. If you move to the Fountainview Penthouse it is not so expensive and it's nice. Living in those is more like living in a house. I re-made my penthouse that Ledowski (? is that the right name) was in that is so huge (even with a big family it is ridiculous) into a restaurant with a bunch of fun stuff and access to if you eat there or not. You can download that from my gallery if you want it and replace the one in the game. Your people may have some fun there. Anyway, I don't play it exclusively, but it is fun with some modifications. Also... you can remove the Waterside Warble, as it is pretty useless, and add a residence or different business if you want to do 'Go To Work' and 'Dine Out'. The combination of all of those is what I use most in the city, personally. Hope something out of that is helpful, and you can have some fun there...
