Lost all Furniture
So I was playing my game, had my Sim go on an excellent date, where he proposed, and the next day his fiancé came over and they had a gold-level marriage (I never get gold on events!). They moved in together, and I decided to have them move and build a bigger house. I chose “Keep Furniture”
Yet all the furniture is gone! All they’ve got in the household inventory is a microwave and some knickknacks from the wedding. I was counting on the old house’s furniture to be able to furnish the new place, and the old house’s plants to pay the bills. But when I go to manage worlds, the furniture (and dozens of quality plants) aren’t at the old house either. Any ideas how I can save both the marriage and the furniture? Or is this just a loss?
@PipMenace Did you save your progress between the time your sims married (and got gold on the event) and when they moved? If you did, you might be able to get back to that point by recovering one of the game's automatic backup saves. Here's how:

If you don't have a backup from the right time, but you do have an earlier one (from before the marriage), you could always save the house to the in-game library and place it in the current save. Then you could move your sims to it, increasing the family funds via cheat if necessary, and see whether the move works out this time. Or you could figure out what they're owed and just cheat the money directly.
Since this has already gone wrong once, it's a good idea to save before any moves from now on. In fact, it's a good idea anyway; you can never be too careful.
