Update!
Issue #1, sims dying of a broken heart with no warning: EA is looking for saved games affected by this issue to help them study and fix it. See EA_Solaire's post here

Issue #3, sims reset when trying to do romantic interactions: crinrict has found a possible workaround for now, removing the relationship bit between the two sims and then building the relationship back up.

The version with endless loading does appear to be FIXED.
