menu doesn't show up when clicking fridge, oven or computer

i play on pc and i've been having this issue for a while, i use mods but i tested it without mods and the issue still occurs even with no mods. 

when i click on a fridge, computer or oven no menu will show up, so no interactions at all, but sims still cook autonomously or when i give them the command through the needs panel. i tested also in an old save file, with and without mods enabled and the and also tried creating new saves and the issue still remains. it's not mod related but it's in the game. i also tried repairing the game and deleting the local thumb cache but it didn't fix the issue.

if i click the fridge the in game time continues but the sim is frozen and can't do anything. i tried waiting for more than 10 minutes but the menu never pops up.

    i tried this method but it didn't work for me. i was so overwhelmed that i uninstalled the whole game and then reinstalled it, and it fixed the issue! i tested it in a new save, the one i was already testing things in, and a very old one, and they were all working. 

    i'll try to activate mods and see if anything is conflicting or if it's okay now, but thank you for you help!
