Missing Twin Baby?

This is a bit of a strange occurrence i’ve never seen before and i’ve looked around a bit and haven’t seen anything quite similar so i guess i’ll ask here;

 My sim was pregnant with twins, a girl and a boy, and i knew this for sure because of MCCC. i also used the “on ley line” lot trait because i wanted to make sure she had twins. everything was normal, my sim gave birth, and i got both naming prompts with the “congrats its twins!” but after naming them, both babies disappeared. i went to manage worlds and came back and one of the babies reappeared in a bassinet in a different room, but the other twin is COMPLETELY gone. he’s not in the household at ALL! missing entirely, even from the genealogy. it’s like he never existed but i NAMED him!!!??? ive had babies disappear into the household inventory, but never completely vanish like they never existed.

 if anyone has any ideas of what happened or if they know of any way to fix this lmk, any tips are appreciated. i may just continue without the twin, but it’s SO sad seeing an empty bassinet and two of everything in the kids room i made, with only one twin.
