My Cheerleader lvl 8 fitness sim vs Football lvl 8 fitness for uni scholarships

So here is a thing that happened - my football star sim high school graduate with level 8 fitness got the athletics scholarship (yay!). But my head of the cheerleader squad sim (male in case anyone cared) with level 8 fitness did not! Why? This scholarship is suppose to be skill based anyway so level 8 should be more than enough. This is the same household so it is a bit odd. I am not sure if this is just random or something new to the high school expansion that changes things as anything over 5 generally gives the scholarship. Basically, this is new for me and I play university all the time. Is it because he is a cheerleader and not a football player? He can't play soccer? Because rude. I would argue that American football players cannot play European football so...👿
