My Cows/llamas are stuck in my household inventory.

I moved lots, and went to put my cow from my household inventory into a newly purchased shed on the new lot.

It will not let me assign the animal, place the animal, or call over the animal. This happens with both llamas and cows. 

I have tried everything I've read online other than downloading mods to try to resolve the issue as I do not use mods. 

I literally just purchased the cottage living pack and now it is pointless. Please tell me someone has a solution?
