My game keeps freezing

I need help. My Sims game has been freezing and unfreezing for a short time, and I don’t know what’s causing it. I play on Mac and have never had any trouble running it. It started when I tried to play my legacy household, of all saves, and all I could do was click on the household and watch the loading screen before it froze. What was weird is that I could hear my sims talking and doing stuff while my screen was still frozen at the loading screen. I gave up, stopped playing for a little while, and it eventually let me get past the loading screen, but I could play for as long as 1 minute before it froze again. My other saves haven’t had the same problem as this one. I did have one save freeze, but it was not as bad, and I could still play the game.

I have already tried to fix it by looking online for solutions other players might have had before. I do use mods but they are not the issue here. I have removed my mods, deleted my localthumbcache, restarted the game (classic), repaired the game, lowered the resolution, moved my sims folder out of Electronic Arts and so on. Nothing has worked for me so far. However, when I removed my Sims 4 folder from my Electronic Arts folder and started a new game, I could play just fine. I am really hoping this isn’t a corrupt save file, especially since this is my legacy save. Also, this all started after the recent base game update on the 25th February. Praying it’s a bug and gets patched but that’s probably unlikely with my luck.

Has anyone had this experience before and fixed it?

Not all of them. I have problems where it doesn't affect every household, I can't click on anything, and I'm unable to switch between household members, but that's about it.

I'm not really a tech person when it comes to things like this, but let me know if any of this information about my Mac is useful. I'm just copying and pasting what it says about my Mac lol.  It's a MacBook Air (M2, 2022) with 8GB RAM and 256GB memory.

Doesn't sounds like a tech issue if it doesn't affect all households

Would you be willing to share your save with me ?

If so, please zip your saves folder and upload it somewhere like dropbox, googledrive or OneDrive and PM me the link.
