No romantic interactions

All checked: age, preferences and family relation. The romance menu doesn’t appear, the sims won’t flirt - already checked if my sims is unflirty or any other personality trait that might be blocking it. The menu for Relationship interaction appears, but none of those interactions are helpful to build the relationship into a romantic one. They are just questions to find out about the other sim’s preferences, not really to engage romantically with them. This has been happening since the upgrade before this last one, and this last upgrade messed up with even more things, like the appearance of a list of hot keys, mouse buttons and other tips for quick access to general functionality like the use of the keys up and down.  It’s really annoying and I can’t remove that. Also there are a few problem in the decorator career, like my sim turn into a npc and it just stands there not following commands, just nodding now and again. All other sims also just stand there, and the time passes and I’m unable to redecorate the place, as the build menu also doesn’t enable. I end up losing reputation, time and my sim doesn’t get paid. Please have a look around these latest two updates, they are messy.
