Pet Neglect

As it goes, pets cannot die of anything but old age in the Sims 4. I can appreciate this greatly since any Simmer who is a true pet love/animal guardian will likely resort to cheats, turning off aging, age down treats or the ambrosia treat to ensure the family pet doesn't pass on in their game. What I find very troublesome is how this can lead to Simmers who aren't like that to completely neglect their Sim pets. It never occurred to me before until entering the realm of Sims 4 Let's Play binging since the whole "lovely" virus thing began.
There are Simmers who will get pets in their Let's Plays when they know their viewers desire it, but...

This one player has disgusted me enough to leave me not only emotionally ill, but physically as well with how they used their pets in one game play and now yet again in another. In one, they took full advantage of their dog being ill from the Gilded Guts Disorder and left it like that to gain money. In time, they realized (or maybe they always knew) that even if you leave your ill pets alone, they will eventually return to being well. Because of this, in later plays they began to neglect ever taking their pets to the vet or buying wellness treats. This finally led to the person not caring if their pets' bowls were filled or if the cat needed a litter box.

There should be some sort of "punishment" implemented for this. I believe one similar to Social Services taking neglected dependents away from neglectful Sim parents. 'Like if a Simmer's pet is sick, they have to take the animal to the vet or get a wellness treat or else their pet will be taken away. If a Sim wants to seriously adopt a pet, they have to have certain items. To adopt a dog or fox, they must have a pet food bowl, a pet bed and a bathtub. To adopt a cat or a racoon they must have a pet food bowl, a pet bed and a litter box.

I know this is a simulation game and it is a long held tradition for Simmers to torture their Sims and kill plenty of them off for the heck of it... but... if you give the pets immunity from dying like you do babies, you should give them the chance to be saved from being utterly tortured and not being able to die until they are old to be granted peace as well. If not that, when they run away, let them run away for good.
